Please join us this spring as we examine the rebirth of Detroit and how it is being fueled by a consortium of 21st Century educational and business models that are quickly changing the “perception” of Detroit from economic wasteland to a viable alternative and opportunity for a new generation. We will explore the connections between creative learning, knowledge spaces, history, and revitalization. At the AIA Committee on Architecture for Education 2015 Spring Conference, we will look at the lessons from the past that Detroit continues to provide, while at the same time looking to its future, as an unexpected model for the evolution of a new cultural, economic and educational urban environment.
