The health and welfare of the occupant is just one of the areas that are positive effected with the addition of innovative high performance fenestration. Through codes and personal choice, the need for maximum thermal performance has grown immensely within the glass and glazing world. This course will review basic thermal principles and terminology in the fenestration industry; examine the key areas that disrupt the occupant comfort and health, review testing procedures, industry standards and glazing performance related to thermal performance and provide insight into innovations in the curtain wall segment.
• Understand the basics of thermal breaks, its effect on the performance of the structure and benefit to the occupant and environment.
• Identify the key areas that affect occupant comfort, health and well-being and code paths (prescriptive and performance) involved with them.
• Understand how overall system results include safety and structural performance as well as energy data.
• Review and understand the available products that meet the parameters for a sustainable project focus.

Gary Tongco is a National Sale Manager for FrēMarq Innovations, a company focused on high performance architectural aluminum framing systems. He has been in the glass and glazing business for 29 years. He had his own Independent Sales business for 12 years and has worked with many products in Division 8. He was the National Sales Manager for Graham Curtain Wall Solutions for 5 years, which he left to go work with FrēMarq Innovations. He has been married for 32 years to a wonderful wife, has two daughters, two dogs, and a cat.
The mission of CSI is to advance building information management and education of project teams to improve facility performance.
