Specifications Writer

We are currently seeking a Specifications Writer to join our team in the Southfield studio. The ideal candidate is familiar with a wide range of building types, materials, and construction systems. You will provide a supporting role in production of Project Manuals, coordination of Consultant Specifications, and research of materials and products.

Who you are:
· Specifications Writer with a minimum of 5 years of experience
· Resourceful and creative thinker with strong writing, editing, and research skills
· Multi-tasker with proven track record of success working with a multitude of teams and clients
· Individual with a strong understanding of building science, materials, construction systems and codes

What you will do:
· Work alongside Director of Specifications and/or Senior Specifications Writer, provide a supporting role in production of Project Manuals, coordination of Consultant Specifications, research of materials and products
· Typically involved in multiple projects with varying schedules
· Works effectively and collaboratively with many diverse stakeholders
· Contribute to our culture of equality, creativity, and innovation; think outside the box

Your Education + Skills
· Experience in preparation of technical documents with at least 2 years dedicated to preparation of specifications.
· CCS certification and LEED AP preferred
· Experience with BSD SpecLink preferred
· Understanding of building science, materials, construction systems, and codes
· Strong editing and research skills
· Accuracy, completeness, clarity, and composition in written expression
