The Maker Mind: Digital Toolmaking with Computational Design

Join AIAD TAP Computational Design Detroit ( as we host a lecture and forum discussion about how to leverage digital toolmaking in our day-to-day workflows. We will hear from local Computational Design experts as they describe how this new age of individualized, open-source toolkits empowers designers to work faster and smarter.

Continuing Education will be provided

1. Introduce Computational Design and its relevance to architecture
2. Discuss Grasshopper-based toolmaking and how it is a departure from traditional software. Overview of open source modules, examples, and tutorials. Discussion of the culture of individual agency required to take advantage of these resources.
