DESCRIPTION:
This presentation will review the planning process and implementation of whole building air leakage testing (WBALT). Attendees will be presented with key items to expect including recommendations for a successful project, common challenges that arise, and key causes for failure. We will also discuss recommendations on how to prepare for testing to mitigate failure of WBALT tests.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. Attendees will be able to apply architectural detailing strategies that support airtight construction to enhance occupant health, wellness, and overall building safety.
2. Attendees will understand coordination and the assignment of responsibilities required for a successful WBALT
3. Attendees will be able to identify and mitigate construction-phase challenges associated with planning and implementing WBALT, using project case studies to inform safer and more reliable installation practices.
4. Attendees will be able integrate WBALT requirements into project planning and trade coordination to reduce risk, ensure compliance with evolving health and safety standards, and achieve successful commissioning outcomes.
