Mission

AIA Detroit Technology in Architectural Practice Committee [TAP], Detroit-area BIM User Group [DABUG], and Computational Design Detroit [co.de.D]

Through continuous open dialogue with the local building industry, including Architects, Engineers, Contractors, Owners and Governing Agencies, TAP will help identify and educate how technology has changed the building process, specifically within the Architectural Practice.

Objectives:

1.) Collaborate with all aspects of the building industry in matters pertaining to technology’s influence in today’s profession and built environment.

2.) Identify opportunities that have presented themselves through building process’ adoption of technology and reinforce the advantages through educating and networking of these ideas within membership.

3.) Identify hurdles that have presented themselves through building process’ adoption of technology and identify solutions through educating and networking of these ideas within membership.

4.) Communicate regularly with membership topics regarding technology in practice – through all committees of AIA Detroit - reinforcing how technology can impact all aspects of our profession.
