This middle school will be a transformational addition embracing cutting edge teaching methodologies by providing a welcoming, non-institutional environment. Generous use of glass inside and out will contribute to a sense of well-being and a central commons will greet students and provide a sense of place; a destination; an identity. Informal and unscheduled spaces throughout the facility will provide opportunities for students to huddle collaboratively and learn from one another outside the classroom environment. Classrooms will be equipped with mobile furniture that will allow nimble re-configuration from large group to small group interaction. Material selections will provide a sophisticated and warm atmosphere that will enhance the destination value of the facility and will be a point of pride in the community.
