Project Architect/Designer

Join LBBA and help co-create architecture that makes measurable positive impacts on people and communities! We’re looking for technically strong designers with 8-10 years experience to represent LBBA and our growing presence in Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Jackson Michigan.
 
LBBA is a Chicago-based architectural practice established in 1987 that is distinguished by its community-based approach. An innovative leader and hands-on champion of affordable housing and neighborhood planning, LBBA believes good design should be available to all. Together with clients and community stakeholders, LBBA co-creates inventive, inviting, and sustainable spaces and places that transform lives, revitalize neighborhoods and regenerate cities.
 
Required Qualifications:
B.Arch or M.Arch from an accredited school of Architecture
8-10  years of architecture practice experience
 
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Strong design portfolio
Strong design and technical skills
Strong collaboration and organizational skills.
Managing clients with multiple projects.
Maintaining relationships with clients to provide a high level of service.
Involvement with pre-design and programming phases of a project.
Overseeing the production of design documents
Involvement of all document phases of a project, SD, DD, CD, and CA.
A hands-on approach and flexibility are a must
Knowledge of local building codes is required.
Strong Communication and Project Management skills
Experience with ArchiCad is a plus.
