JOB SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of architectural and engineering work in the analysis, planning, design, and development of park structures and facilities. Plans and assists in planning, developing, estimating, presenting, implementing, scheduling, and evaluating construction, renovation, utility, maintenance, repair, and projected capital improvement projects. Writes contracts and specifications for labor, materials, and equipment for construction projects. Conducts field surveys and inspects existing facilities for system problems and/or provides analysis or solutions for improvements. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department-specific software to complete assignments.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Have a Bachelor of Science degree in Facility Management, Facility Technology, Architectural Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
2. Have had at least four (4) years of full-time work experience in facility management, engineering, or related area.
NOTE: A Master’s degree in one of the above fields from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the experience requirement above.
3. Possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator’s or chauffeur’s license. Out-of-Country driver’s license holders will be required to obtain the appropriate valid State of Michigan driver’s license before the hire date.
4. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for this classification.
5. Successfully complete the six-month probationary period.
