IBI Group’s Southfield, Michigan office is searching for an Architect to join its growing team. Our office is a full-service Architectural and Engineering firm that services a wide variety of clients across the globe. 

Most of the things you’ll work on:
* Lead and execute a broad range of projects through the design process, production of construction documents, and construction administration as part of a multi-discipline project team
* Participate with the project team to understand/establish project goals and objectives including work plan, project schedules, budget parameters, while ensuring the highest product quality
* Participate in the design of projects, ensuring the team works together to achieve set goals and targets
* Oversee and participate in the development of documentation and specifications 
* Provide technical guidance and creative solutions to resolve design challenges
* Act as a mentor to new Architects and help them fine-tune their design skills and improve their industry knowledge
* Respond to internal and external customers, addressing technical needs as they arise
* Collaborate with other IBI Group architectural practices around the US, and potentially globally  
* Liaise with clients to ensure all issues are addressed in a timely manner, and that project requirements are met
* Network and consult with various industry professionals

 You’ll need to have:
* Bachelor or Masters’ Degree in Architecture from an accredited university
* Must be working toward your license
* 5-8 years of experience, preferably in the design and development of various facilities in the industrial, education, retail, and commercial sectors
* Writing, editing, and development of project specifications
* Understanding of ICC building code, Life Safety Code, and other applicable codes and being able to interpret and adapt project criteria to achieve compliance. Experience with the ability to communicate with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) during pre-project through permit/plan review phases.
* Experience in all facets of construction administration leading the project team and acting as a primary communicator to both the client and contractor.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication/presentation skills
* Keen attention to detail along with exceptional organizational skills
* Ability to manage time efficiently with little to no supervision
* Quality focus and the ability to maintain strict adherence to schedule and budget
* Ability to work in a high-paced environment with a sense of urgency, managing multiple projects and priorities concurrently
* Client interface experience, the ability to cultivate and maintain client relationships, and the willingness to research, participate in and lead business development efforts
* Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
* Valid Driver’s License
* LEED accreditation is preferred, and ALEP accreditation is considered a plus
* AutoCAD and Revit/BIM experience
* Rendering & Photoshop skills a plus
