The Detroit, Michigan office of SmithGroupJJR, named one of Southeast Michigan’s Top 100 Workplaces by the Detroit Free Press for 5 consecutive years (2013-2017) is looking for a Sr. Construction Administrator to join our team. Our practices offer local, national and international projects of all sizes including opportunities with our other offices.

Working with us, you will:

The Construction Administrator may be stationed at the job site, or at the Detroit office of SmithGroupJJR, depending on the project(s) and workload; and will have three primary responsibilities:
+ Assist in resolving design related issues so that the project is completed to the specified scope and quality, without delay and without undue costs.
+ Assist with the administration of the construction contract(s).
+ Represent the SmithGroupJJR and protect our interests.

An ideal candidate has:

+ 15 – 20 years’ experience in the Architecture/Construction Industry.
+ Registered Architect or Professional Engineer preferred.
+ Must be able to work seamlessly with Detroit based architecture team.
+ Clear written and verbal communication skills necessary.
+ Proficiency with basic Microsoft Office, Newforma, and Adobe programs.
+ Knowledge of Revit required. Experience with Bluebeam and Navisworks a plus.
+ Candidate must be able to demonstrate these skills in their resume submittal and interview.

SmithGroupJJR offers competitive compensation and an excellent benefit package, including 401(k) and continuing educational reimbursement. We offer 3 weeks of paid time off within the first year of employment, with the option of purchasing additional time off, and pay for 8 federal holidays. We also offer an alternative work schedule that provides employees with an additional 15 days off per year (usually Fridays) to help with work/life balance.
